| dc.description | Objective: This article provides a scientific mapping of global research on Digital Transformation (DT) in the business sector, with the aim of exploring its evolution and the main research trends in this field.Design/Methodology: Bibliometric techniques and the VOSviewer tool were used to analyze records retrieved from the Scopus database. The search strategy yielded a total of 4,751 documents published between 2003 and 2024.Findings: First, productivity and citation metrics for different units of analysis (authors, countries, and journals) are presented. Then, cluster analysis was used to identify the main approaches currently shaping research in this field. The results indicate that emerging technologies associated with Industry 4.0, the adaptability of business models, and organizational culture are strategic factors that need to be aligned to strengthen organizational competitiveness. Conclusions: DT at the organizational level should be understood as a comprehensive and multidimensional process that extends beyond the mere adoption of technological tools. It involves a profound transformation of organizational strategies, capabilities, and structures.Originality: Based on the findings of this review, a research agenda is proposed, offering valuable opportunities for future studies that could contribute to the continued advancement of this field of knowledge. | en-US |
