Objective: This study examines whether the effectiveness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) communication mediates the relationship between corporate environmental practices and employees’ perceived reputation—an association that has received limited attention in manufacturing companies operating in Latin American emerging economies.Design/Methodology: The study adopted a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional explanatory design. Survey data were collected from 301 employees at a leading food manufacturing company located in Cali, Colombia. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Findings: Corporate environmental practices positively predicted corporate reputation (β = 0.147; p = 0.038), although the direct effect was moderate. Communication effectiveness emerged as the strongest predictor (β = 0.601; p < 0.001) and significantly mediated the relationship between environmental practices and corporate reputation (indirect effect: β = 0.152; p < 0.001).Conclusions: From the employees’ perspective, corporate reputation is shaped primarily by the perceived alignment between environmental practices and the way they are communicated. Communication effectiveness also operates as a key mechanism for reducing uncertainty, enhancing credibility, and fostering attributions of authenticity regarding an organization’s environmental commitment.Originality: This study operationalizes CSR communication effectiveness through six measurable dimensions, thereby moving beyond binary approaches focused solely on information disclosure. It also contributes empirical evidence from the perspective of employees at a Colombian manufacturing company, a context that remains underexplored in the literature. Finally, it integrates legitimacy, signaling, and attribution theories into a unified mediation model that explains how communication enables environmental practices to be translated into corporate reputation.en-US
