Digital transformation in the education sector: challenges and trends
Abstract
Hoy en día las universidades se enfrentan a cambios asociados a la transformación de sus procesos no solo a nivel corporativo o institucional; sino también a un nivel tecnológico, los cuales deben ser adaptados internamente para estar a la vanguardia y poder suplir la exigencia laboral que requiere el mercado. Esto es importante porque desde allí se da la introducción a otra forma de métodos de enseñanza y también porque se entrega personal capacitado a la sociedad que posee destrezas y habilidades para impulsar el desarrollo empresarial y económico de una región o país, dando lugar a que se le otorgue a la educación la visibilidad y la importancia que como tal debe ser vista. Ahora mismo, la sociedad pasa por diversos avances en investigación y desarrollo tecnológico a pasos agigantados que afectan a muchos sectores de la economía. Entre dichos desarrollos, han dado pie para que surjan temáticas como la digitalización (tema que no debe ser pasado por alto por la educación) que ha sido uno de los principales cambios de la humanidad y día a día su impacto se ve reflejado en industrias como la banca y las finanzas, la manufactura, entre otros. Teniendo en cuenta el desarrollo tecnológico y su revolución, su rol en la economía y las habilidades necesarias que deben darse, se planteó en este estudio analizar los retos y las tendencias de la transformación digital en el sector educativo, a través fuentes de información estructuradas como la base de datos Scopus, gestores de minería de datos como VOSviewer y WordArt. Gracias a ello, se obtuvieron resultados usando estas herramientas que permitieron hallar 6 tendencias asociadas al objeto de la investigación: innovación, impresión 4D, Blockchain, Big Data, MOOC y Redes sociales; siendo Blockchain y Big Data las más representativas para la transformación digital en la educación por la relevancia dada en la catalogada industria 4.0.
Abstract
Today, universities face changes associated with the transformation of their processes not only at the corporate or institutional level; but also at a technological level, which must be internally adapted to be at the forefront and to be able to meet the labor demands that the market requires. This is important because from there the introduction to another form of teaching methods is given and also because trained personnel are delivered to society who have skills and abilities to promote the business and economic development of a region or country, giving rise to the give education the visibility and importance that as such it should be seen. Right now, society is going through various advances in technological research and development by leaps and bounds that affect many sectors of the economy. Among these developments, they have given rise to issues such as digitization (a topic that should not be overlooked by education) which has been one of the main changes of humanity and day by day its impact is reflected in industries such as banking and finance, manufacturing, among others. Taking into account technological development and its revolution, its role in the economy and the necessary skills that must be given, it was proposed in this study to analyze the challenges and trends of digital transformation in the education sector, through structured information sources such as the Scopus database, data mining managers such as VOSviewer and WordArt. Thanks to this, results were obtained using these tools that allowed to find 6 trends associated with the object of the research: innovation, 4D printing, Blockchain, Big Data, MOOC and Social networks; being Blockchain and Big Data the most representative for the digital transformation in education due to the relevance given in the classified industry 4.0.
