Abstract

El presente es un proyecto de investigación-creación que, a partir de la elaboración gráfica de retratos en vinilo, y del interés por ampliar las posibilidades configurativas y visuales de este tipo de imagen, traza un periplo en torno a las formas de percibir y entender la imagen en general, y lo relaciona con los modos en los que lo urbano como madeja de acontecimientos opera sobre dichas formas, así como sobre las diferentes manifestaciones que aspiran, mediante su impacto estético, al apelativo de arte urbano. De esta relación surge un análisis en torno al potencial expresivo del retrato, partiendo de sus funciones establecidas a lo largo de la historia del arte, y en tanto que correlato del rostro vivo y generalizado en el que reside lo urbano como una mirada siempre dispuesta a resignificar aquello de lo que se apropia.

Abstract

The following is a creation-research project that, based on the elaboration of portraits on vinyl, and the interest in expanding the configurative and visual possibilities of this type of image, traces a journey around the ways of perceiving and understanding the image in general, and relates it to the ways in which the urban, as a skein of events, operates on these forms, as well as on the different manifestations that aspire, through their aesthetic impact, to claim the name of urban art. From this relationship an analysis is raised around the expressive potential of the portrait, starting from its functions established throughout the history of art, and as a correlate of the living and generalized face in which the urban resides as a look always ready to resignify what it appropriates.
