Abstract

Following the life and literary work of Manuel Mejía Vallejo, you can see a writer who searches for himself through his characters and stories. In this journey the reader discovers an author who captivates by his intellectual curiosity, imagination, desire for freedom and the many stories that he weaves, as he lives life as the best of adventures. Nothing was alien to him since he had to leave the small town of his childhood to settle in the big city and, from there, imagine the world with all its fissures and contradictions. His life and his work, which is followed step by step in this first part of his biography, reveals one of the most representative and unique writers of Colombian literature of the century.
