Abstract
En la ciudad de Mafala vivía un personaje sugestivo y genial, Roberto Matiz, un fotógrafo cuyo nombre le hacía honor al único mundo que le fascinaba, a la par que lo horrorizaba, y en el cual concentraba todo su poder de fuego: la mirada. Roberto significa «esplendoroso de gloria» y Matiz en griego quiere decir «ojo». Es parte de un hallazgo ver lo que todo el mundo había visto y pensar en lo que nadie había pensado, y esto era lo propio de aquel que con su mirada camaleónica podía capturar lo más útil a su arte de descifrar señas, leer gestos, elucidar guiños. He aquí la historia de un hombre que abre nuevos senderos a la mente humana, en este caso en el terreno de la visión.
Abstract
"The city of Mafala was home to an appealing genius, Roberto Matiz. This photographer's name meant ""glory-bright"" and ""eye"" in Greek in honor to the only world that fascinated and terrified him at the same time, where he focused all his firepower: the glance. Part of a discovery is seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody else had thought before. Such was the feature of an individual whose chameleon-like glance could decipher signs, read gestures, and explain winks. This is the story of a man who opens new paths for the human mind."
