Humanismo y consumo en la perspectiva de Herbert Marcuse

Este artículo presenta una reflexión sucinta sobre la condición humana, a la luz del sujeto racional y el consumo y uso de tecnología, teniendo como referente a Herbert Marcuse y tomando como temas centrales algunas de sus obras: Tecnología, guerra y fascismo, Eros y civilización y El final de la utopía. En ellas se podrán identificar aspectos de la condición humana en el siglo XX,abordados a través de la racionalidad tecnológica en una sociedad de consumo.

Abstract

This article presents a concise reflection on human condition, in the light of the rational subject and consumption and use of technology, having Herbert Marcuse as a model, and taking as the main topics some of his works –Technology, War, and Fascism, Eros and Civilization, and The End of Utopia–. Through these, it will be possible to identify some aspects of human condition in the 20th century, addressed from the technological rationality in a consumer´s society.
