| spa |
| dc.description.abstract | This study carried out a technical and economic analysis for the automation of the lighting system in the parking areas of a shopping center, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and improving operational efficiency without affecting the safety and visibility conditions required by current regulations. Initially, a diagnosis of the existing lighting system was conducted, identifying the operating characteristics, installed infrastructure, luminaire distribution, and energy consumption associated with the continuous operation of the system. Subsequently, an automation proposal based on KNX technology and DALI controllers was designed, integrating occupancy sensors and a centralized monitoring platform to dynamically regulate lighting levels according to user presence and the operational conditions of each parking area. Based on the collected data, an energy and financial analysis was developed considering current consumption, the projected savings scenario, and the implementation, operation, and maintenance costs of the system. The results showed a projected energy reduction of approximately 38.4%, significantly decreasing electricity consumption costs and achieving an estimated investment payback period of less than three years. Finally, it is concluded that the automation of the lighting system represents a technically and economically viable alternative, capable of improving the energy sustainability of the shopping complex, optimizing system operation, and ensuring compliance with lighting and safety regulatory requirements. | eng |
