The hummingbird, as the essence of our being, through pictorial reinterpretation.
Abstract
Dentro del desarrollo de este trabajo de investigación-creación, se reflexiona y evidencia las diferentes representaciones y reinterpretaciones del colibrí a partir del contexto indígena precolombino en el territorio Hispanoamericano con el fin de propiciar reflexiones e interpretaciones de un significado subjetivo, por medio la imagen pictórica. Aquí se muestran diferentes representaciones y significados del colibrí que han hecho parte de este territorio hispanoamericano, nos encontramos con un contexto del realismo mágico y literario, con algunos cuentos, cantos, leyendas y mitos, y por último un proceso pictórico que se realiza para poder entender su presencia en el contexto desde el color, la luz y las texturas. Así, por medio de la pintura, es posible reinterpretar el colibrí desde la época precolombina.
Abstract
Within the development of this research-creation work, we reflect and evidence the different representations and reinterpretations of the hummingbird from the pre-Columbian indigenous context in the Hispanic American territory in order to promote reflections and interpretations of a subjective meaning, through the pictorial image. Here we show different representations and meanings of the hummingbird that have been part of this Hispanic American territory, we find a context of magical and literary realism, with some stories, songs, legends and myths, and finally a pictorial process that is done to understand its presence in the context from the color, light and textures. Thus, through painting, it is possible to reinterpret the hummingbird since pre-Columbian times.
