Lola Vélez in the context of the artistic and culturals dynamics of Antioquia plastic
Abstract
El presente trabajo investigativo abarca algunos aspectos de la vida y obra de la artista bellanita María Dolores Vélez Sierra, conocida como Lola Vélez (1920-2005). Aquí se hace énfasis en su formación académica, sus exposiciones, el estado actual de su casa en Bello y su valor patrimonial; además de una revisión temática, iconográfica e iconológica de dos de sus obras y las influencias pictóricas. Así mismo, su participación en las dinámicas artísticas y culturales de la plástica antioqueña en la segunda mitad del siglo XX para dar un reconocimiento al rol de la mujer en la escena de la historia del arte local.
Abstract
The present research work it covers some aspects of the life and work of the artist bellanita Maria Dolores Vélez Sierra, known as Lola Vélez (1920-2005). Here emphasis is placed on his academic training, his exhibitions, the current state of his house in Bello and its heritage value; in addition to a review thematic, iconographic and iconological review of two of his works and the pictorial influences. Also, your participation in the artistics and culturals dynamics of antioquena plastic in the second half of the twentieth century to give a recognition to the role of women in the scene of local art history.
